A message from our Bishop
Primus ☩☩John Sathiyakumar
Dear Beloved Primates, Archbishops, Bishops, Priests, Executive Lay Leaders and Fellow Brethren,
Grace and Peace be multiplied to you through our Lord and Savior!
It is a great pleasure to be here with you today as we celebrate together the establishment of the GAFCON Anglican Bishops Council – India, trusting in a Great and Mighty God of the impossibilities who goes before us to make all crooked paths straight.
Who can despise the beginning of small things? (Zech 4:10). Yes. While man cried over small and insignificant materials, the God of Israel showed no signs of displeasure over small things. Sure. If our Great God is with us and we being faithful to Him surely, one day the small will no longer be small. “Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain.” (Zech 4: 7). All the hindrances, obstacles, and hurdles that we encounter will become a plain before our eyes. Only God expects our genuine faithfulness and trust in Him.
Glory to His Name!
A communion reflects the unanimity and singularity of the Apostolic and Patristic Church while encompassing both Protestant and Catholic traditions, as well as embracing a multiplicity of expressions of worship and practice. In contrast to a denomination, a communion expresses the organic unity Jesus Christ originally established in His body, the Church. Rather than emerging from divisions created by historic differences over doctrine and practice, a communion represents a return to unity based on the recovery of the essential oneness of the ancient, medieval and contemporary church.

What is GAFCON?
‘GAFCON’ stands for Global Anglican Future Conference.
The GAFCON movement is a global family of authentic Anglicans standing together to retain and restore the Bible to the heart of the Anglican Communion. Its mission is to guard the unchanging, transforming Gospel of Jesus Christ and to proclaim Him to the world. GAFCON is founded on the Holy Word, bound together by the Jerusalem Statement and Declaration of 2008, and led by a Primates Council, which represents the majority of the world’s Anglicans.
What is GAFCON ABCI?
‘GAFCON ABCI’ stands for The GAFCON Anglican Bishops Council of India.
GAFCON being a global movement within the Communion, the GAFCON Primates recognized the establishment of an Anglican Bishops Council able to represent the interests of the Anglican Churches to the Indian Government under the leadership of Archbishop John Sathiyakumar, but including any or all Bishops who were
willing to commit to following the affirmations contained in the Constitution of the Anglican Bishops Council. These Primates represent over 70 million of the 90 million Anglicans throughout the world.
EPISCOPAL HEADS OF THE ANGLICAN CHURCH
The Anglican Church follows the Episcopacy from the early entry of The Church of England to India.
The Epicopacy starts from the Year 1814 wherein the Anglican Church came into existence in India.
Today we stand as one family of the largest main line churches in India.
